The Charm of Evil Eye Jewelry
The evil eye isn’t a mere superstitious myth. Evil eye beads aren’t mere good luck charms. The users are reminded of togetherness and that they share a typical belief. Greek Orthodox, Jews, and Catholics from Mexico or Muslims from Iran, Turkey or other areas of the Middle East, use evil eye beads. These are people from different religious backgrounds and who otherwise regard each other as enemies. They are brought together in their belief in and use of evil eye talisman in bringing best of luck and warding off evil. Evil eye reminds them that despite the hostility that exists amongst them, they all fit in with mankind. Evil eye jewelry is made in the form of evil eye bracelets, necklaces, earrings and evil eye pendant. Lots of people in the Middle East and Mediterranean region think that praise or gazes they receive from other people may bring them misfortune. Praises might actually wish no harm but evil spirits may take a ride on words of praise or admiring looks.

Microsoft Charm
Chew on this: two days after unveiling the developer preview of the next generation of its Windows operating system (“Hands On With Windows 8″), Microsoft filed a U.S. federal trademark registration for the word ‘CHARM‘. The description provided to the USPTO for CHARM is “computer programs; graphical user interface software; operating system programs”. They’ve left cybersquatters the opportunity to grab microsoftcharm.com and windowscharm.com, though, so the trademark filing doesn’t necessarily mean anything. Interesting, nevertheless, particularly given the timing. If anyone knows what’s something cooking in Redmond, feel free to let us in on it. You’d be making me and this charming young lady very happy

Scissor Charm Necklace
We feel like broken records lately, every time we look for new jewelry to feature we find ourselves saying, “They just don’t make them like they used to.” Whether it’s a question or craftmanship or appearance, jewelry just doesn’t seem to have the same charm as the vintage pieces we’ve found over the years. Maybe it’s because those pieces have stood the test of time or didn’t come off an assembly line, but you just can’t compete with the quality. Well, that is until we found these lovely pieces from Natalie Tischler. Gorgeous nostalgic handmade pieces that are constucted from both new and vintage materials! Ornamental Things was started in April 2004 by Natalie Tischler. The independent jewelry designer makes all of her pieces out of her South Austin studio. Her vintage-inspired jewelry is limited edition and made with a mix of new and recyled objects. Why This Gets The Delight Seal of Approval: .

Evolution of the Soldered Charm
Just a quick post to show you how my crocheted and soldered charms from yesterday have evolved. For these two, I ended up wrapping them onto etched sheets of metal. The one on the left is a chocker and the one on the right is a bracelet. Love them. I put these two little ones onto a piece of ribbon. Sort of a mommy and me necklace. Believe it or not, the hardest thing I did yesterday was crocheting the teeny tiny flower with thread and encasing it in the tiny 1/2 inch by 1/2 inch glass squares (shown on the right). The rain has stopped and I’m fully refreshed after a good night’s sleep so I think I might go for a walk/jog after I gather my thoughts for the small talk I’ll be giving tonight to the amazing group of women. Then onto paper clay and more crochet and soldering. I was thinking to myself last night that with soldering, I feel that I’ve learned something as significant as sewing.

The Charm City Circulator bar crawl
I barhopped on the Charm City Circulator. Nevin’s Cross Street Station, The Hill, Peter’s Pour House. I was supposed to have gone to two more bars, but by the time I left my third, the circulator was approaching its curfew. So, yes, it is possible, to barhop on it, you just have to limit yourself to one drink a bar if you want to actually make it to more than three in one night. That was my original plan anyway. And it was in the crapper pretty much as soon as I stepped inside Nevin’s, where I did a quick succession of Blue Moons, Irish car bombs, and Lithuanian liqueurs. But I knew that was going to happen. For one, passengers and transportation activists had complained about the short hours in Monday’s story about the circulator. And two of my fellow passengers further underscored the complaint when we got off the bus at Cross Street Station. Their exchange: Lady 1: “All right, that was awesome.” Lady 2: “Maybe we take it back?” Lady 1: “Yeah, maybe.

Like most Smartphone in general, Motorola Charm also comes with several standard features that you can find, including the multiple networks, camera, wireless, messaging features, and some supporting multimedia applications.
